All American
What better way to take your mind off recent indignities at the hands of blue-shirted thugs than a nice picture-laden magazine article about how great Nebraska is. American Airlines magazine recently had a cool spread on the Good Life. The trick was coming up with a single cover image which could encapsulate an entire state. Of course the obvious choice was our WalkAround mascot Lil' Red (and a University Cheerleader for scale).
Sometimes, after you've paid $187 in Government fees and security surcharges, waited in line for 50 minutes, taken your shoes off, taken your belt off, put your toiletries in a clear plastic bag, taken your laptop out, been ordered around like criminal livestock, been blasted in a radiation machine by a poorly trained lackey you wouldn't trust to operate an espresso maker, and had your private parts man-handled by someone you wouldn't trust to carry your groceries, you ask yourself: is it worth it.
Thanks to American Airlines and Lil' Red, the answer in August was a definite: maybe.
